Want to transfer you FireFox to another computer?

SysInfo Search If you are trying to transfer your FireFox to another computer but don't want to loose your bookmarks, cookies and of course saved passwords.

On your old computer go to your c:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%profilename% folder.

Copy following files:

  • bookmarks.html - your bookmarks

  • cookies.txt - information on sites where you have "logged in" or "remember me" checked plus some other info

  • signons.txt - saved password

  •  key3.db - decoder for saved password file (without it Firefox cannot use old saved password file)

Save those files to your new computer profiles folder in c:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%profilename%

That's it you are done - you now have your bookmarks and saved passwords. Now when you have your most important information back you can reinstall your themes/extensions... speaking of which - check out the FireFox extensions I made.
